Passing target: 80% (16/20)
At night on a two-lane road, the bright headlights of an oncoming car make it hard for you to see. What should you do until the car passes?
At night, silver B approaches in the opposite lane and its bright headlights shine toward blue A. No sight line or road-edge highlight is selected.
Correct answer: Look ahead toward the right edge of the road until the bright lights have passed.
Why
Bright lights can blind you for several seconds, and at road speed you travel a long distance in that time. When you use the right edge of the road as your guide, the car stays in its lane while your eyes recover. Be courteous yourself: dim your headlights promptly when you meet or follow another vehicle.
