Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You are passing a car on the left on a two-lane road. When is it safe to move back into the right lane?
A is alongside B in the left lane of a two-lane road during a pass. No return path or inside-mirror detail appears before answering.
Correct answer: When you can see both of its headlights in your inside rearview mirror.
Why
After you pass, West Virginia law does not let you move back to the right until you are safely clear of the car that you passed. When both of its headlights show in your inside mirror, you have reached that point. Signal before you move back, and complete the return before you come within 100 feet of any oncoming vehicle; if you cannot do this, do not start the pass.
