Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You drive well below the speed limit on a winding two-lane road, because you do not know it. Five cars are now lined up behind you, and they have no safe place to pass. What should you do?
A is ahead of five silver cars on a two-lane road. The card states that the waiting drivers cannot pass safely; no turnout is selected in the question.
Correct answer: Keep to the right and pull off at the first safe turnout to let them pass.
Why
Driving much slower than other traffic can create a hazard, because impatient drivers may try unsafe passes. A slower driver must keep as close as practical to the right edge of the road. On a road with one lane each way and no safe place to pass, use the first safe turnout to let the faster traffic go by. You may drive slowly when safety requires it, but do not hold others back without reason.
