You are first in line at a red light. The light turns green. What should you do before you drive into the intersection?
A is first in line and its signal has just turned green. No cross-street scan rays or route appear in the question image.
Correct answer: Look left, right and left again, and let any cross traffic in the intersection clear.
Why
Some drivers do not see or obey traffic signals, and a crash into the side of a car is often severe. Look left first, because traffic from the left reaches your lane first, then right, then left again, because things can change while you look away. If buildings or parked cars block your view, move forward slowly until you can see.
