Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You are driving on a two-lane highway when a car behind you pulls out to pass. What should you do?
Silver B has moved into the opposing lane to pass blue A. Both cars travel right.
Correct answer: Keep to the right in your lane and do not speed up until the pass is complete
Why
The driver being passed controls how safely the pass ends. A steady speed and a position to the right give the passing driver the shortest possible time in the opposing lane. If many vehicles keep passing you on a multilane road, you are probably slower than traffic and should move to the right lane when it is clear.
