Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You are passing a slower car on a two-lane road. When may you move back into the right lane?
Blue A is overtaking silver B using the opposite lane on a two-lane road with a broken yellow center line.
Correct answer: When you can see the car you passed in your rearview mirror
Why
Section 304.016, RSMo, lets you return to the right side only when you are safely clear of the vehicle you passed. Seeing that vehicle in your rearview mirror is a simple check that you have left enough room. Before you move back, look over your right shoulder and signal; the driver being passed must not speed up until you are completely by.
