Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
You are waiting in a left-turn lane, and this signal is showing. What may you do?

Correct answer: Turn left after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians
Why
Missouri uses three left-turn phases: protected (green arrow, with oncoming traffic stopped), permissive (circular green or flashing yellow arrow, where you turn only through a safe gap) and a mix of both. With a flashing yellow arrow, oncoming vehicles may be moving at full speed. If you cannot find a safe gap, wait; a steady red arrow means you must stay stopped.
