Passing target: 80% (20/25)
You are turning left from one two-way street onto another two-way street. Where should your vehicle be as you start and as you finish the turn?
A waits to turn left from the lane next to the center line. The receiving road has two lanes in each direction.
Correct answer: Start just right of your center line and end just right of the new street's center line.
Why
Section 304.341, RSMo, has you approach a left turn from the far-left lane that is lawful for your direction and leave the intersection in a lawful lane for the new direction. On a four-lane street, you may enter its right lane if that lane is free. Do not cut the corner, and leave room for oncoming drivers who are turning left in front of you.
