Passing target: 80% (20/25)
You are on a two-lane street and will turn right onto a street that has two lanes in each direction. How should you make the turn?
A approaches a right turn at a curbed intersection with one lane in each direction.
Correct answer: Stay close to the right curb before and during the turn, and end in the right lane.
Why
Section 304.341, RSMo, requires both the approach and the right turn to be made as close as practicable to the right curb or edge. When no signs or markings direct otherwise, choose the lane nearest the way you want to go and turn into the nearest lane of the new road, so you cross as few lanes as possible. If you need a different lane, change lanes after the turn with a signal and a mirror and blind-spot check.
