Passing target: 80% (20/25)
You plan to turn right at an intersection ahead, and there are no other streets or driveways between you and the turn. How far before the turn does the Missouri Driver Guide tell you to start signaling?
A approaches a right turn along an uninterrupted residential street. The question shows no answer distance.
Correct answer: At least 100 feet before you reach the turn, so others can get ready
Why
Signaling early gives the drivers behind and around you time to react before you slow down or turn. Section 304.019, RSMo, requires an appropriate signal before you turn, change lanes or stop, and the move itself must be reasonably safe. If a side street or driveway lies between you and your turn, wait until you pass it before you signal, so no one thinks you will turn there.
