Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
Your brake lights have stopped working, and you need to slow down and stop. Which hand-and-arm signal should you give?
Three left-arm positions are numbered: straight out, bent up, and bent down. No choice is highlighted.
Correct answer: Left arm out the window, bent at the elbow and pointing down
Why
Missouri uses three hand signals, all given with the left arm: straight out for a left turn, bent upward for a right turn, and bent downward for slowing or stopping. You need them whenever your turn signals or brake lights fail. Check your signals and brake lights often, and signal early so drivers behind have time to react.
