Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You want to stop for a few minutes to check a map, and the only open space nearby is the shoulder of a highway bridge. May you park there?
Correct answer: No. Parking on a bridge is not allowed, even for a short stop
Why
Bridges and overpasses give a stopped car no room to move away from traffic, so it can block other vehicles and emergency crews. The same model traffic rule also forbids stopping in a highway tunnel or on railroad tracks. Drive on and stop only at a lawful place off the bridge, such as a parking lot or rest area.
