Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You missed your street on a two-lane road and want to turn around. Under Missouri state law, which place is lawful for a U-turn if no sign forbids it and no traffic is near?
Correct answer: On a straight section where you can see far in both directions
Why
A U-turn puts your vehicle across the travel lanes, so other drivers must be able to see you in time to stop. Missouri law bans U-turns at intersections controlled by a signal or an officer, on curves, near a hill crest and anywhere that approaching drivers cannot see you from 300 feet. Many towns also ban U-turns by ordinance, so obey any No U-Turn sign, and when in doubt, go around the block.
