Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You park facing uphill on a street with a curb on your right. How should you set the front wheels?
A faces uphill beside a right-side curb. A side profile identifies the uphill direction.
Correct answer: Turned sharply left, with the car no more than 18 inches from the curb
Why
Missouri's hill-parking graphic shows three cases. Downhill (with or without a curb) and uphill without a curb both turn the wheels right, toward the road edge; only uphill with a curb turns them left. The goal is always the same: if the brake fails, the car must roll away from traffic, not into it.
