You are stopped at a stop sign, waiting to pull out onto a main road. A motorcycle is coming from your left, and it looks far away. Why should you take a second careful look before you pull out?
A is stopped at a STOP sign on a side street before entering the main road. Motorcycle B approaches from A’s left with a small outline relative to the road scene.
Correct answer: Its small size can make it seem farther away than it is, so it may reach you sooner than you expect.
Why
Many drivers who crash with a motorcycle say that they never saw it. Train yourself to look for motorcycles, bicyclists and pedestrians, not only for cars and trucks. In a crash, the rider is much more likely than the people in the car to be badly hurt or killed, because a motorcycle gives little protection.
