Passing target: 70% (14/20)
On a highway with two lanes in your direction, you come up behind a motorcycle that is riding in the left part of the right lane. There seems to be room for your car beside it in that lane. How should you pass?
A follows motorcycle B in the right lane of a highway with two lanes in each direction. B rides in the left part of that right lane, leaving visible room on its right.
Correct answer: Move fully into the left lane to pass the motorcycle, just as you would to pass a car.
Why
Two motorcyclists may ride side by side in one lane, but a motorcycle may not share a lane with a car or truck. Motorcycles are small and easy to miss, so before you pass a car, check for a motorcycle ahead of it that the car may hide. Leave even more space around motorcycles in rain or darkness.
