You are behind a large truck in the right lane as it nears an intersection. The truck's right turn signal is on, but the truck moves a little to the left, leaving an open space between it and the curb. What should you do?
A follows a large truck B in the right-hand lane near an intersection. B is close to the left edge of its lane, with open space beside the right curb, and the caption states that it is signaling right.
Correct answer: Stay back and let the truck finish its turn, and keep out of the space on its right.
Why
Large vehicles need more room to turn, and they take longer to stop and to speed up than cars. When you stop behind a truck or bus, leave extra space, especially on a hill, because it may roll back a little when it starts. If a truck is backing into a loading area, wait for it to finish instead of driving close behind it.
