Passing target: 16 correct signs and 16 correct rules (TLA practice targets)
You approach a railway crossing with its warning lights flashing and gates lowered. What should you do?
Blue car A approaches a single-track railway crossing with its warning system active and the gate closing or down. The barrier controls A's entire inbound lane. The opposite approach has its own gate assembly.
Correct answer: Stay stopped until the gates rise and the lights stop flashing
Why
Do not drive through, around or under a railway gate while it is closed, opening or closing. Wait for the gates to rise fully and the lights to stop flashing, then check that the tracks and the exit are clear before proceeding. Ignoring the warning can cause a serious or fatal collision.
