Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
Your grandmother has a disability parking placard. You borrow her car to go to the store alone. The lot has open spaces marked for people with disabilities. When may you use one of these spaces with her placard?
Correct answer: Only when she is driving the car or riding in it with you.
Why
These spaces are close to entrances and often have striped access aisles for wheelchairs, which people with disabilities need; do not park in the aisles either. When the placard is used, the certificate with the holder's name must be in the vehicle. Misuse is a misdemeanor that can bring a fine of $500 to $1,000.
