Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You are backing straight out of a long driveway in a car with a rearview camera. Where should you mainly look while the car moves?
A faces left and backs right along a long driveway toward the street. Large cards state that A has a rearview camera and identify the reverse direction. No driver look is selected.
Correct answer: Over your right shoulder through the rear window, with quick checks of the mirrors and camera.
Why
A car is harder to steer in reverse, so keep your speed slow and your eyes on the path. To see well, hold the top of the wheel with your left hand, rest your right arm across the passenger seat back, and turn to look out the rear window. If you back while you turn, also make quick checks to the front and sides.
