On a four-lane highway, you want to move into the left lane. You have checked the space ahead, looked in your mirrors and turned on your signal. What should you do next?
Blue car A is in the right lane of a four-lane road and plans to move left after checking mirrors and signaling.
Correct answer: Turn your head and look over your left shoulder to check the blind spot
Why
A safe lane change follows a set order: check the space ahead and behind, check your mirrors, signal, look over your shoulder, check both sides again and then move over gradually. The head check is needed because a car or motorcycle beside you can be hidden from all of your mirrors. Do not ride in another driver's blind spot, and do not change lanes at the last moment as you enter an intersection.
