You plan to turn left. The sun is bright behind you, so drivers behind you may not see your signal lights well, and you add a hand signal. Which arm position signals a left turn?
Blue car A travels on a two-way street. A plans a left turn, and bright sun behind makes its lamps hard to see.
Correct answer: Left arm stretched straight out, level with the shoulder
Why
All three hand signals use the left arm out of the driver's window: straight out for a left turn, bent up for a right turn and bent down to slow down or stop. The manual says that hand signals help in bright sun and when drivers several cars back cannot see your signal lights. Bring your arm back inside during the turn so that you have both hands on the wheel.
