Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
You want to turn left onto a side street. At the corner, a sign faces you: a red circle with a white horizontal bar and the words DO NOT ENTER. What does this tell you about the side street?

Correct answer: The traffic on it moves toward you, so you must not enter it from here.
Why
Red signs tell you to stop or not to go: STOP, YIELD, DO NOT ENTER and WRONG WAY. You often see DO NOT ENTER signs at the ends of one-way streets and at freeway exit ramps. A driver who enters there by mistake meets oncoming traffic and can cause a head-on crash.
