Passing target: 80% (32/40)
On a two-lane road you follow a slow truck. A warning sign shows a railroad crossing a short distance ahead, and no car comes toward you. What should you do?
A follows slow pickup B on an unmarked two-lane road. A railroad advance-warning sign and tracks are ahead; the opposing side of the road is empty.
Correct answer: Stay behind the truck until you are past the crossing, then pass only where it is safe.
Why
The vehicle ahead may stop at the crossing, and you need room to stop for a train. The same limit applies near intersections, narrow bridges, viaducts, tunnels, hills and curves. The end of a no-passing zone shows only that you can see farther; you still decide if a pass is safe.
