On a farm road, you come to this white X-shaped sign that reads RAILROAD CROSSING. The crossing has no lights and no gates. What does the sign require you to do?

Correct answer: Slow down, look and listen both ways, and yield to any train before you cross
Why
The crossbuck marks the place where the road crosses railroad tracks, and it works like a yield sign for trains. A train cannot stop quickly or steer, so it always has the right-of-way. When more than one track crosses the road, a plate below the sign shows the number of tracks, and one train can hide another. Never stop on the tracks.
