Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
At night you turn out of a parking lot onto a downtown street. A short way along, you see a red rectangle with the white words WRONG WAY facing you. What does this tell you?

Correct answer: You go against traffic on a one-way street, so the cars come at you
Why
On a one-way road, Texas law lets you drive only in the posted direction. WRONG WAY signs stand where only a driver who goes the wrong direction sees them face-on. A DO NOT ENTER sign warns you before you turn in; a WRONG WAY sign tells you that you are already in. Act at once: move out of the path of oncoming traffic when it is safe, and turn around so that you drive with the traffic.

You plan to turn onto a freeway ramp. At the ramp, a sign faces you: a red circle with a white horizontal bar and the white words DO NOT ENTER. What does this tell you?On a two-lane highway, you follow a farm tractor that moves at about 20 mph. You pass a white sign that reads DO NOT PASS. The road ahead looks straight, and you see no oncoming cars. What should you do?You drive on a two-lane street with no traffic signal. At a marked crosswalk, this sign stands on the center line. A woman steps into the crosswalk from the curb on your side of the street. What must you do?A raised median begins in the center of your two-way street. At its near end stands a white vertical sign with a black arrow that curves to the right around a small black shape. The driveway you want is on the left, a short way past the start of the median. What should you do?Above the lanes at an intersection you see this sign. Over the far-left lane is a left-turn arrow. Over the lane next to it is an arrow that points both left and straight ahead. You are in the far-left lane, and you now want to go straight. What should you do?Your destination is on the left side of the cross street. At the intersection, a white sign shows a black arrow that turns left, with a red circle and slash across it. Traffic is light. What should you do?
