Correct answer: A. A marked lane on this road is set aside for bicycles.
Why
This sign marks a bicycle lane: a part of the road set aside for people on bicycles, usually marked with a white line and a bicycle symbol. Do not use it as a travel lane or a parking space. Before you turn across it, check your mirror and blind spot, and let any bicyclist in the lane go first. It is a white regulatory sign. The diamond warning sign with a bicycle only warns that bicyclists may cross or use the road ahead.
Why the other answers are not correct
- B. Wrong: a ban on bicycles is shown by a different sign with a bicycle inside a red circle and slash.
- C. Wrong: a bicycle crossing ahead is shown by a diamond warning sign, not by this white regulatory sign.
- D. Wrong: the sign applies to one marked lane; cars may still use the other lanes of the road.
