Show the answer and the explanationHide the answer
Correct answer: A. Parking is not allowed where this sign applies.
Why
A black P under a red circle and slash means no parking. Do not park where the sign applies. Arrows, times or a plaque on or below the sign can show where and when the rule applies. Red on white marks a parking prohibition. A green-on-white parking sign is different: it allows parking with limits, such as a time limit.
Why the other answers are not correct
- B. Signs that allow parking with limits use green on white; red on this sign marks a prohibition.
- C. This is a regulatory sign that prohibits parking, not a guide sign that points to a parking area.
- D. The P stands for parking; passing rules use DO NOT PASS signs and pavement markings.
