Show the answer and the explanationHide the answer
Correct answer: A. You may not turn right at this intersection.
Why
The red circle and slash mean a movement is not allowed. Over a right-turn arrow, the sign means you may not turn right at this intersection. Choose another legal route. A green light does not cancel this sign. Do not confuse it with a black arrow and the word ONLY, which shows a lane where you must turn.
Why the other answers are not correct
- B. Wrong: a lane where you must turn right is shown by an arrow with ONLY or by words, with no red circle and slash.
- C. Wrong: the sign prohibits the right turn; a stop first does not make the turn legal.
- D. Wrong: a sharp turn is shown on a yellow diamond warning sign; this white sign with a red slash is a prohibition.
