Correct answer: A. You are going against traffic on a one-way road or ramp.
Why
WRONG WAY means you are going against the direction of traffic, usually after a wrong turn onto a one-way road or a freeway exit ramp. Pull to the side as soon as it is safe, then turn around with care. It often comes after a DO NOT ENTER sign, which you see where the wrong entry starts. The WRONG WAY sign is farther along, so it tells you that you have already gone in.
Why the other answers are not correct
- B. Wrong: a closed road uses a ROAD CLOSED sign; WRONG WAY faces drivers who go against traffic.
- C. Wrong: that is the meaning of a yellow Two-Way Traffic warning sign, not a red regulatory sign.
- D. Wrong: the sign does not tell about a missed exit; it tells you that you are already going the wrong way.
