Passing target: 80% (40/50)
On a two-lane road with a dashed center line, a slow car is ahead of you. An intersection is about 80 feet ahead, and no sign or officer permits passing there. What should you do?
Blue car A follows silver car B in the right-hand lane of a two-lane road with a dashed yellow center line. A side-road intersection is ahead. A bracket marks the stated 80 feet from A’s front to the near edge of the intersection.
Correct answer: Stay behind the car, because you may not pass within 100 feet of an intersection
Why
Vehicles can turn or enter at an intersection, and their drivers do not expect you on the left side of the road. Also do not pass on a hill or curve where your view is blocked, within 100 feet of a railroad crossing, or near a bridge or tunnel when your view is obstructed. Never pass a vehicle that has stopped at a crosswalk.
