Passing target: 80% (40/50)
On a multilane highway, you come up behind one snowplow with flashing yellow lights. Its plow blade is out on its right side. Where may you pass it?
Blue car A follows one white-and-silver snowplow B in the middle lane of a multilane highway. B has an illuminated amber beacon and a yellow wing blade deployed on its right side. No passing route is shown.
Correct answer: Only on its left side, away from the deployed blade, and only when it is safe
Why
When three or more snowplows work side by side or diagonally across the lanes (echelon formation), you may not pass them on either side. Snowplows throw snow and ice and move slowly, so stay well back. Pass only when the road ahead is clear and you can see well.
