You drive in the right lane of a one-way street with two lanes. In the left lane, a car stops at a marked crosswalk at an intersection. You cannot see anyone in the crosswalk. What should you do?
Blue car A approaches in the right lane of a one-way street. Silver B is stopped in the left lane before a marked crosswalk. No pedestrian is visible.
Correct answer: Stop and do not pass the stopped car, because it can hide a person who is crossing
Why
Many pedestrian crashes happen when one car stops for a pedestrian and a second car passes it in the next lane. The stopped car blocks the view of both the pedestrian and the passing driver. Stop behind the crosswalk, and go only when you are sure that the crosswalk is clear.

At a four-way stop, a bicyclist slows almost to walking speed, yields to a pedestrian and to the car already in the intersection, and then rides through without a full stop. What does current Utah law say about this? You wait in a left-turn lane at a red arrow. A bicyclist is stopped in front of you in the same lane and signals a left turn. What should you do when the green arrow comes on?You parallel park on a busy street and want to get out on the traffic side. In your side mirror, you see a bicyclist who comes toward your car in the lane. What should you do?On a multilane highway, you drive on the right side of a tractor-trailer, just behind its cab. You cannot see the truck driver's face in the truck's side mirror. What does this tell you?You are halfway through an intersection on a green light when a fire truck with its siren and flashing lights comes up behind you. What should you do?After you pull over for a fire truck that uses its siren and lights, you want to continue in the same direction. How close may you follow the fire truck while it responds to the emergency?
