Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You want to make a U-turn on a two-lane road just before the top of a hill. Drivers coming over the hill could see your car only from about 200 feet away. May you make the U-turn here?
Blue A faces forward on a two-lane road. A separate schematic hill profile places A just before the crest and shows an approaching sightline blocked by the hill. The card gives visibility to A as only 200 ft.
Correct answer: No, because other drivers must be able to see you from 500 feet away
Why
A U-turn puts your car across the lanes for several seconds, so other drivers need time to see you and stop. Cities can also have their own U-turn rules, so obey local signs. If the view is poor or the road is too narrow, go around the block instead.
