Passing target: 80% (24/30)
On a two-lane road, the car ahead of you stops to turn left. There is not enough paved space to its right, but the gravel shoulder is wide. What should you do?
A is behind B, which has stopped to turn left into a driveway. There is one paved lane in each direction and a gravel shoulder to A's right.
Correct answer: Wait, because you may not pass on the right on the shoulder.
Why
Wyoming allows a pass on the right only when the vehicle ahead turns left or when the road has two or more lanes your way. In both cases the pass must be safe, and you may not drive off the pavement to make it. Passing on the right is risky because other drivers do not expect you there, and people or stopped vehicles may be on the shoulder.
