Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You drive a car that is not towing anything on a two-lane, two-way highway posted at 65 mph. You pass a pickup that is going 50 mph. What does Wyoming law allow while you pass?
Correct answer: You may go up to 10 mph over the limit to pass, then slow back to 65 mph.
Why
Wyoming lets the driver of a passenger car, pickup, or motorcycle that is not towing exceed the speed limit by up to 10 mph while passing a vehicle that is going slower than the limit. The allowance applies only on two-lane, two-way roads posted at 50 mph or more, and never in construction zones. After the pass, return to the right lane and slow to the posted limit as soon as practical.
