Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You come up behind a bicyclist on a narrow two-lane road. An oncoming car is close, so you cannot pass with a wide gap. What should you do?
A follows bicyclist B near the right edge of a narrow two-lane road. Oncoming car C is close in the opposing lane.
Correct answer: Slow down and follow until you can pass with at least 3 feet of space.
Why
Bicyclists have the same right to use public roads as drivers. Do not pass unless you have a clear, empty lane to use; until then, slow to the rider's speed and follow. When space allows, Wyoming law requires at least 3 feet between the right side of your vehicle, including mirrors, and the bicycle. Pass at a reduced speed, and do not drive beside the rider for a long time.
