Passing target: 80% (24/30)
On a two-lane road, you are behind a slow truck as you climb toward the top of a hill. You cannot see what is past the hilltop. What should you do?
A follows a truck toward a hilltop. A side-profile inset shows the crest, and the card states that A cannot see beyond it.
Correct answer: Stay behind the truck until you can see that the way ahead is clear.
Why
A pass on a two-lane road puts you in the lane of oncoming traffic, so you must see enough clear road to finish it. Wyoming law forbids driving on the left near a hilltop or curve that blocks your view. Unless signs or markings show otherwise, it also forbids this within 100 feet of an intersection or railroad crossing. You must be back in your lane before you come within 200 feet of an oncoming vehicle, so if you are not sure, wait.
