Intersections & Right-of-WayStandalone practice
Your light is green, but traffic on the far side of the intersection is stopped and there is no room for your car. What should you do?
A faces green, but cars are stopped across the far side of the intersection and leave no space for A beyond the crosswalk.
Correct answer: Wait at the stop line until your car can get all the way across.
Why
Drivers should not enter an intersection unless they can get all the way through it without stopping. If you stop in the middle and the light changes, you block cross traffic and pedestrians and can cause a crash. Even with a green light, wait until there is space for your whole vehicle on the far side.
