Passing target: 70% (21/30)
You come to an intersection that has no stop signs, yield signs or traffic lights. A car on the road to your right reaches the intersection at about the same time as you. What should you do?
A and B approach an intersection with no traffic controls. B is approaching on the road to A’s right.
Correct answer: Yield, and let the car on your right go first.
Why
If the other vehicle has already entered the intersection, you must yield to it no matter which side it came from. Uncontrolled intersections are common on rural and residential roads, so slow down as you approach and look both ways. The rule only tells you who must yield, so be ready to stop if the other driver does not. Parked cars, bushes or buildings can hide a car on your right until late, which is another reason to slow down.
