Passing target: 16 correct signs and 16 correct rules (TLA practice targets)
What is the safest way to follow a large commercial truck on a highway?
Blue car A follows a white tractor-trailer B in the right lane of a divided-road carriageway. Both point right and an open gap separates them.
Correct answer: Stay well back, out of its blind spot, with room to stop.
Why
Stay well back from a large truck and leave enough space to react and stop safely. Increase the gap when traffic, visibility, weather or road conditions require it. MTO’s mirror warning refers to the driver’s face in a side-view mirror, not simply the mirror housing. If you cannot see that face, assume the driver cannot see you; a visible mirror is never proof that the driver has noticed you.
