It is 2 p.m., and a steady drizzle makes you run your windshield wipers all the time. You can still see well. What does Tennessee law say about your headlights?
Blue car A travels in daylight rain on the right side of a two-way road. An enlarged unmarked view shows the same car. The fact card states 2 p.m., steady drizzle, good visibility and constant windshield-wiper use; no beam or chosen lamp is marked.
Correct answer: Turn them on, because rain that needs constant use of the wipers also needs headlights.
Why
Headlights make your car easier for others to see in rain, even when you can see well yourself. A good habit is to turn on the low beams every time the wipers are on. Headlights are also required whenever the light is too poor to see people or vehicles clearly at 200 feet.
