Passing target: 80% (32/40)
On a dark two-lane road, an oncoming truck has very bright headlights. Where should you look until the truck passes?
A heads left on a dark two-lane road as oncoming truck B heads right in the other lane with bright headlight glare. No road edge or gaze target is selected.
Correct answer: Toward the right edge of the road, and use the edge line to steer.
Why
Bright light makes the pupils of your eyes close down, and after the vehicle passes they need time to open again. During this glare recovery time you can see very little, and older drivers often need more time. Keep your windshield, windows and glasses clean inside and out, because dirt on the glass makes glare worse.
