Regulatory, Lane & Parking SignsStandalone practice
You stop at a red eight-sided STOP sign, at the stop line. Bushes on the corner block your view of the cross street. What should you do next?

Correct answer: Move ahead slowly until you can see, and go only when it is safe.
Why
The STOP sign is the only sign with eight sides, so you know it by its shape even when dirt or snow covers it. Stop at the stop line; if there is no line, stop before the crosswalk, or before the edge of the cross street if there is no crosswalk. After the stop, yield to the vehicles on the cross street that are in the intersection or close to it.
